XL LACROSSE
XL Lacrosse is a festive, fun way to introduce new players to the game, while emphasizing fundamentals and lots of fast-paced repetitions for experienced players as well. This is a great way to try the game if your child is new to the sport, and it's a perfect program for experienced players to stay fit and sharp for the upcoming Spring season.
We are inviting athletes, grades 1 to 8, boys and girls, to six developmental clinics. The format of each one hour clinic includes 30 minutes of skills training plus 30 minutes of live play in small groups.
Grades 1-4 for both boys and girls will take place at 4pm. 5th - 8th grade for both boys and girls will be 5pm
The girls' session will take place the following hour, from 5pm to 6pm, for six Mondays starting on Nov 29th, ending Jan 17th.
Regardless if your child is involved with other sports, lacrosse will develop:
-
Social Skills/Teamwork
-
Field IQ
-
Footwork
-
Cardio
-
Hand/Eye Coordination
-
Speed & Agility
And it goes without saying, players will learn important lacrosse skills:
-
Ball Protection/Cradling
-
Passing & Catching
-
Scooping
-
Positional Defense & Offense
-
Shooting
Players are required to wear turf-friendly shoes (no cleats) and mouth guards. Players must also have their own sticks. Links are below for boys' and girls' lacrosse sticks if your child does not have access to one.
* XL Lacrosse uses safe, dense-foam balls and boys do not wear pads. Due to the limited contact nature of XL Lacrosse, protective gear for boys (pads and helmets) and girls' (goggles) is NOT required.
** A one-time purchase of an XL Lacrosse jersey ($30) applies if your child does not have one.
